Langman's is a beautiful and elegant restaurant run by the husband-wife team of Anton and Gail Buttery and is situated on Church Street, in Callington, just a short drive from Plymouth and close to the clock tower of St Mary's Church. The restaurant places great emphasis on the variety and taste of food that is served and the six course tasting menu is freshly prepared with ingredients sourced locally wherever possible. Chef Anton's personal touch is evident even in the service, where guests are asked for their preference while the meal is being prepared.

Using local and seasonal ingredients, the predominantly Cornish menu comprises dishes of seared scallops with butternut squash soups; and duck with puy lentils, celeriac, port and quince. Other mains include brill langoustine risotto and fillet of Cornish beef with dauphinoise potatoes, baby carrots, green beans and madeira sauce. A selection of Cornish and West Country cheeses with walnut, golden raisin bread and wheat wafers rounds off the meal beautifully.

For those with a sweet tooth there is an enticing dessert menu including a crisp apple tart and the intriguing rhubarb sorbet baked Alaska.
