A modern seafood menu and oodles of vintage charm define The Old Sail Loft Restaurant in Quay Street. It is housed in a centuries old sailing loft that was once a haunt of smugglers and sailors. The restaurant's snugly comfortable interiors, displaying original beams and roof trusses of English oak, and warm hospitality promise an enjoyable evening.

The Old Mill House Inn
Mill Hill, Polperro, nr Looe, PL13 2RP [Map]
The Old Mill House Inn in Polperro has a long and varied history having previously been a bakehouse, a water mill and even the village power station. A complete makeover, following a devastating flood in 1993, saw the mill transformed into a popular local pub. Some of its original features remain, like the old mill leat that runs underneath the main bar, and the exposed stone walls, dim lighting and oak beams give it a characterful, almost medieval feel.
The Old Mill's tapas menu is packed with an appetizing array of small bites, whilst the main menu offers special steaks, curry and a wide variety of traditional Cornish dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
Perhaps the inn's best feature is the beer garden where diners could catch a glimpse of the river while sipping on a drink. Those looking for a stopover in the area will be happy to know that the inn also has seven en suite bedrooms that are comfortable and well-equipped.

Restaurant at Trelaske Hotel
Polperro Road, Looe, PL13 2JS [Map]
A light and airy restaurant with fantastic views across the fields towards the moors on one side and of the landscaped gardens on the other. The restaurant is traditional in style and can seat up to eighty people for private functions and weddings.
It has been awarded 1 AA Rosette for food excellence for 2007/2008 based on the freshness of the produce used and the simple manner it which it is cooked allowing the natural flavours to shine through. All produce used in the restaurant is sourced from within Cornwall, nearby farms supply the meat and vegetables, whilst fish comes from the daily catch down at Looe, a mere two miles away.
The dinner menu is more adventurous and modern, and therefore attracts a younger market and the more modern foodie, whilst the Sunday lunch offering is more traditional and welcomes those who enjoy their Sunday roast.
The wine menu is varied offering a selection from many of the major wine producing countries. Helpful waiting staff are always on hand to help if required and descriptions of each are included on the list to guide you towards a decision. The wine merchants are only one and a half miles from the restaurant. St Austell supplies the majority of the beers with their award winning real ale Tribute a permanent fixture.
