Alba Restaurant

House in the former Lifeboat House, the restaurant takes its name appropriately enough from the SS Alba which went down off St Ives in 1938, and whose boiler may still be seen at low tide. Two local lifeboatmen were lost in the rescue, a grim foretaste of what was to happen the following year when the Coxswain and six crew members were lost in another incident at sea.

  • Address: Old Lifeboat House, Wharf Road, St Ives, TR26 1LF (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern European
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £25.00, Dinner: £41.00

Alfresco Cafe Bar

This is a cheerful place. Overlooking the harbour with an open-fronted continental-style restaurant, in the heart of this renowned fishing town (and more latterly a bit of culture as well), you immediately feel part of the place.

  • Address: Harbourside, Wharf Road, St Ives, TR26 1LF (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Modern British, Seafood
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £15.00, Dinner: £32.00

Blue Fish - St Ives

The Blue Fish is a fairly recent opening in St Ives, and has quickly established itself as one of the leading fish restaurants on Cape Cornwall. Incredible how ingenious people can become when faced by a buoyant economy and changes in trade, in this case the falling off of the fishing industry, leaving large, spacious fish net lofts looking for a new purpose in life.

  • Address: Norway Lane, St Ives, TR26 1LZ (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Seafood
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £42.00

Garrack Restaurant

Book Online

Situated on a quiet hill top location with thirty miles of stunning coastal views stands The Garrack surrounded most unusually for St Ives by that scarcest of commodities in Cornwall, onsite parking.

  • Cuisine(s): Modern British
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £38.00

Gung Ho

Located in a former butcher's shop, Gung Ho is the kind of place you immediately warm to, especially if you are a lover of interesting food and wine. The walls are a deep magenta pink with wood panelling and are decorated with artefacts and wall hangings from the Far East.

  • Address: 7 Tregenna Hill, St Ives, TR26 1SF (Map)
  • Cuisine(s): Asian, Indonesian, Thai
  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: N/A, Dinner: £20.00

Gurnard's Head, The

The team that brought us The Felin Fach Griffin, that increasingly popular haven of laid back excellence in the Brecons, have mounted a similar operation, this time in West Cornwall; take one famous old inn, mix with the special atmosphere of a dramatic Atlantic coastline only 500 yards away, add dashes of local ingredients and you have the basis for success.

  • Address: Treen, Zennor, St Ives, TR26 3DE (Map)

Onshore Restaurant

onshore, site of Cornwall's only wood-burning oven, and winner of the 'Best Pizza Restaurant in Britain 2002/2003' Award, looks out over the harbour at St Ives. The thing about onshore is that it strives, and generally succeeds in being all things to all people.

  • Avg. Cost Per Head Lunch: £15.00, Dinner: £20.00
