Bistro at Hotel du Vin - Poole

We hear a great deal about recycling these days - du Vin recycles attractive but un-loved buildings to restore real gems in the best tradition of British understated style. Complement that with all that is best in the French bistro ethos, bars that reach out to please, and you have a setting that provides an inspirational background for people to meet, do business, get married, provide a base for golf or fishing, somewhere you can call your own for a private celebration, a spa or - most engagingly - a wine school that breaks the mould.

Bistro on the Beach

As the name implies, short of setting up camp on the waterline you will not eat any nearer to the sea than at the Bistro, a fact which has been gratefully accepted by locals and holidaymakers alike who flock in great numbers to enjoy the buzz and informality of this friendly place that offers real value for money.

Blue Vinny, The

Alex and Nicky Ford took over this traditional village pub in Puddletown in June 2008. Keeping the very best of the old, they set about combining its warm, friendly country ambience with a cool, airy modern interior - part of a style that is reflected in their approach to the food and hospitality for which the Blue Vinny is rapidly gaining a reputation.
