Underscar Manor Description
The setting of Underscar Manor is truly remarkable, a gloriously tranquil hillside location with views out over Derwentwater. Underscar Manor's award-winning restaurant is highly acclaimed in all major guides and is under the control of Head Chef Robert Thornton, brother of Pauline Harrison, one of the owners. He is a member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain and his assured touch, with a lack of surprises but just consistent standards, means that you always get a more than satisfying perfectly served meal. Ingredients are always top quality, from superb Aberdeen Angus fillet of beef, truly a 'melt in your mouth' experience, to organic poultry.
No children under 12 years of age. Jacket and tie.

We have visited Underscar Manor on many occasions and taken many friends and relatives with us to experience their wonderful cuisine. From our younger family members to our much travelled friends, all have been delighted with not only the taste and quality of the food but also the friendliness of the staff and the professional manner in which the food is served. Altogether a memorable gastronomic experience.

My husband and I stayed at Underscar and I must say that the food we had to eat that evening was totally out of this world, we both agreed it was the best meal we had eaten for a very long time and are hoping to return again next month.
