Upstairs at The Beehive

1-3 Montpelier Villas, Cheltenham, GL50 2XE

There is nothing swanky about the Beehive - a traditional British pub that has benefited from the more appealing influences of the gastropub movement, with an upstairs restaurant offering homemade food that instantly appeals. In the summer there is a barbecue hard at work and throughout the year the Sunday roast enjoys a wide appeal. Why not try to start with a warm confit of duck and bacon salad served with new potatoes and poached egg with a tarragon truffle oil, or seared scallops on black pudding, cherry tomato and coriander salsa. This could be followed by a main course of lamb steak served with a cream cheese and chive filled jacket potato or seared tuna with roasted red pepper, lemon couscous and black grape salsa.

Going by the number of customers who throng its doors, it looks like The Beehive is set to keep buzzing for a long time.
