Located on the south of the historic Boone county courthouse, Bijou is set within a wonderfully restored building believed to have been built around 1890. The bistro near the bar area is a casual place to unwind after a hard day's work or for a more formal dining experience head to the main dining room, adorned with plenty of wood.

The bistro menu could feature 4 oz filet mignon, baked salmon, sautéed catfish, and light chicken raspberry salad. Although the cooking is predominately American-European, the French touches are inevitable as evident in starters of succulent lobster nestled in a puff pastry with champagne cream sauce and the exotic mushroom crêpe au gratin. If seafood is your idea of a main course then try the sesame crusted seared yellow fin tuna served rare with soy sauce and wasabi horseradish, or shrimp Provençal. Meat fans could plump for the lamb chops with Pinot Noir demi glaze or free range pork tenderloin medallions.
