One of Norfolk's first Mexican restaurants, Ricardo's is located a little distance from Glenwood Boulevard, on 13th Street. Relaxed and informal, the family-owned restaurant serves a wide variety of Mexican dishes freshly prepared and served in a casual and informal dining area. Designed in an American style the place has an informal look and is spacious with a bar located at one end.

The menu offers a number of choices and combinations and is very affordable. It consists of appetizers of nachos topped with taco meat, vegetables and cheddar cheese. Following these are the speciality dishes of burrito, a soft flour tortilla filled with taco meat, cheddar cheese, vegetables and sour cream with enchilada gravy; and quesadilla, a large flour tortilla stuffed with real cheddar cheese and homemade pico de gallo, grilled to perfection and served with guacamole. Besides this are the number of other non-vegetarians and vegetarian platters which are much in demand.

Among the desserts, the Mexican fried ice cream, a creamy vanilla ice cream covered with crunchy cereal coating, deep fried and topped with whipped cream, is something that constantly keeps people coming back for more.
