Lubec's claim to fame as the easternmost town in the continental United States has not hindered the locals celebrating their isolated existence and culture. Local businesses certainly have played their part and thanks to places like Uncle Kippy's, which has been around for over 25 years faithfully serving diners using the best fruits of the sea.

The menu thoughtfully offers some house specialities such as shrimp or haddock supreme and taste o' the sea, a delightful combination of scallops, clams, shrimp and lobster on a bed of linguine with a creamy Alfredo sauce. There's also a honey hush chicken dinner and spaghetti with meatballs in addition to a conventional 12 oz cut of sirloin strip char-boiled to your liking. Those who have certain allegiances to the fresh dough pizza will be satisfied at Uncle Kippy's with plenty of pizza toppings such as pepperoni, ham, black olives, bacon, mushrooms, sausage and pineapple.
