The deli business has been the Sanderson family's forte since 1922. Joan and Ed opened their own restaurant in Sherwood Plaza serving some old time favorites that have been appreciated by both families and young people.

Hearty eaters will be delighted at the sight of the signature super omelet filled with onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, Swiss and peppers, accompanied by a homemade potato pancake and a choice of bagel, roll or toast. For dinner there's turkey or Romanian pastrami, roast brisket of beef and chicken stew simmered in a kettle of fresh vegetables, and noodles.

The deli deckers come with a Russian dressing and may feature roast beef, chopped liver and onions with coleslaw, or turkey, ham and Swiss. Don't be puzzled when you see grilled chicken Reuben or Rachel on the menu, the former comes with sauerkraut and the other with coleslaw. There is also cheese kugel, a noodle pudding just how granny used to make it. 

For years gastronomes have had a soft corner for pizza, and a New York styled one in particular. Its flexibility is due to a thin hand-tossed crust that has elevated them into a different sphere of respect. Now the Pizza Shop at South Natick is all set to refine this fine art of pizza making and attract admirers of this much loved dish.

Their specialty pizzas arrive with catchy tags like godfather topped with olive oil, sliced tomatoes, grilled chicken, artichoke, Romano and mozzarella cheese, or afumigada with grilled chicken, bacon and BBQ sauce. If some great pizza is happening here then pasta can't be too far behind; choose a spaghetti or ziti with meatballs, sausage or sauce. Subs and wraps are a treat as well; the Al 'Scarface' Capone version stuffed with roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hots and horseradish is a light-hearted take on one of the nation's most notorious citizen.
