Typical appetizers bring in a taste of the bayou with sautéed alligator, and lunch time main courses include catfish nuggets with onion rings or maybe chicken fajita with gold sauce. In the evening, entrées could stretch to encompass blackened pork loin with pepper jelly glaze, vegetables and potatoes or steamed crawfish or mussels. Roast duck with a brandy glaze and crab stuffed prime rib topped with crawfish etouffee, surrounded by blackened shrimps are some of their interesting dishes. Wines are available by glass or bottle. Located in the historic Rising Sun Hotel, this casually upscale place is a good venue for family evenings and other friendly dinner meetings.
