Daybreakers Cafe (Yuma)

Great place to eat in the foothills! The breakfast is awesome. We had the pancakes, which are fluffy, just like grandmas and the omelettes are great too - fresh and lots of choices. The California omelette is my favorite with homemade fries. We also like the fast service and hot food. The Bloody Mary top it all off.

When Pigs Fly (Cumberland)

We love this place! I live in Denver and have friends that we visit every year in Cumberland and we always gather at Pigs. Not only do I love the name but the crab dips and ribs as well. I think every local should make this their favorite hangout. The only downside is that I'm 1500 miles away.

Bella Sera Trattoria (Monrovia)

My boss had taken me to this restaurant for lunch and it is such a nice and quiet place. It is family owned and the people are very nice. The food is delicious and they will prepare anything on the menu to your liking. It's definitely a place I am going back to.

Left Coast Siesta (Manzanita)

The best Mexican food on the West Coast! I drive from British Columbia several times a year just to visit Left Coast Siesta in the beautiful community of Manzanita. Visit this place and you will not be disappointed.

Paco's Tacos (Diamond Bar)

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates and enjoys eating authentic Mexican food. After I ordered, they began making the food and I didn't have to wait long. It's authentic Mexican food at a fast-food wait time. The food was delicious and I would recommend the hard shelled shredded beef tacos.

Central Texan Bbq, The (Castroville)

Don has been making great barbeques for several years now and his brisket is very good. Like any cut of meat it can vary when cooked slow like he does it. I try to make a stop there at least twice a year when passing through Castroville on my way to Carmel. He has recently changed his hours to be open seven days a week, which is good. His salad bar has different selections from the past. I heard some people there wanting the macaroni and potato salad vs. the green salad he's changed to. All in all it’s a good place off the beaten path to have some great barbeques. I highly recommend it.

Louie Mueller Barbecue (Taylor)

Louie Mueller's is amazing. The smoked brisket is so good that a line goes outside the door on 100 degree Saturdays. This place is recognized by James Beard as a classic and only 45 minutes to Austin. Try the jalapeno sausage too.

BJ's Pizza & Grill - Balboa (Newport Beach)

I have eaten at BJ's - Balboa once a year for a few years now and every time it is great. The members of staff are friendly and prompt, and the pizza is very good. I never cared for Chicago style pizza and this is still the only kind I would eat. Also, their cookie ice cream dessert is always a great finish to a great meal.
