Upper Crust Bagel Co. (Rye)
I had no idea this place was so good. I was in town for a family get-together and our friends asked to go out for lunch. They picked Upper Crust - great service, food and family time. Plenty of seating for the entire crew and stroller room just made it that much easier. The bagels were fresh and sandwiches were pretty darn good, although I could have asked for more mayo. It was worth the trip from Mamaroneck. We'll be back.

Yuraku (Germantown)
Ah sushi! When you are in the mood for it, nothing else will satisfy. In Montgomery County, Maryland - Yuraku is synonymous with great sushi. The fish is fresh, never frozen, and the variety never leaves you wanting. It is crowded most of the time, especially Friday and Saturday nights. But honestly, would you want to eat raw fish in a restaurant that had only a few customers? The location is convenient with plenty of parking. The sushi, sashimi, and the almost endless variety of rolls never disappoint. Their rice is very well prepared, and as any sushi aficionado knows, well prepared rice is very important to a fine sushi dining experience. Their food is reasonably priced and these are not meagre portions either. Their kitchen is very capable and the tempura, teriyaki, and other kitchen prepared entrees are top notch. There is a plentiful selection of imported beers, wines and sake. Their staff is efficient and courteous but are usually moving very quickly, while as many as seven sushi chefs, and their wait staff, strive to keep the plates, getas, platters and boats delivered to their customers at both bar and table. Yuraku is not the place to go if you want spaciousness and atmosphere but as the saying goes ‘you can't eat the walls’. But if you want great taste, consistency of quality and preparation, and a great sushi experience ‘Yuraku’ is the place to go. They are closed on Mondays.

Mesquite Bar B Q (Mesquite)
Great ribs, chopped beef baked potato and link sausage - I'm full! No BBQ sauce needed although the sauce was great also.

Rustique (Saranac)
Rustique restaurant is a hidden gem in the Adirondacks. Great food, reasonably priced, and good portions. The huge special board provides a variety of delicious food. The ambiance is very ‘rustique’ and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. The food is far above outstanding and is very fresh. A must visit! Five stars.

La Grolla (Saint Paul)
After two visits, we were impressed with this Northern Italian restaurant. It has excellent service, warm bread, and a wonderful menu. The tuna carpaccio is wonderful. However my pasta was overcooked - just a touch. Still, we went back and will go again. Great wine list, both by the bottle and by glass.

Duffy's (Raleigh)
The absolute best crab soup I've ever had! I've tried crab soup everywhere I've found it on a menu, and I've even travelled the North Carolina Coast extensively! Duffy's is thick with what tastes like lump crab meat, and a creamy stock seasoned perfectly. Sorry, I don't know much else about the place! Now that I've found my perfect soup why try anything else? I got it, but be sure to call to make sure they have it first. Their soup choices change.
