Florida may have changed over the years, but some things seem better when they remain the way they are. Take the Friendly Fisherman Waterfront Seafood Restaurant for example, which though it opened its doors in 1978, has retained the convivial family atmosphere and delicious seafood pretty much the same after all these years. Yes, there are now added attractions like the Pirate's Cove, perfect for dolphin watching, and a late night lounge called  the Hub's Waterfront Tavern that includes a raw bar and deli, but otherwise the status quo prevails.

The seafood on offer could have leaped straight off the surrounding shores, such is the degree of freshness - whether it's the baby lobster tails, steamed and served with drawn butter and sautéed diced vegetables over nautical rice; grouper with crab stuffing, or seafood combinations such as Neptune's platter of flounder, scallops, shrimp and snow crab legs - ship ahoy, here's a feast!

Live entertainment and happy beach music make a possible revisit to Friendly Fisherman almost inevitable.
