Offering great food and wine in a stunning setting, Restaurant Skadi in Mammoth Lakes, was opened by Executive Chef, Ian Algeroen, with a view to bring traditional Alpine cuisine to California. Named after the Norse goddess of hunting, Skadi has spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada mountains for guests to enjoy while dining in relaxed and comfortable surroundings.

With a commitment to using fresh and seasonal ingredients, Restaurant Skadi has fostered a close relationship with the Walking Beam Ranch, in nearby Santa Paula, who supply the restaurant with meat, fruit and vegetables. The menu includes starters of Walking Beam Ranch venison sausage on corn pancakes with wild Maine blueberry and vodka compote, or roast maple leaf duck breast served with spatzli, Arctic lingon berries and juniper berries. In season you could try the gallantine of young pheasant filled with sweetbreads and herbs served with whole grain mustard crème fraîche and wild rice salad. Skadi's desserts are an exotic treat too, be it the frozen caramelized macadamia nut and vanilla bean parfait topped with a tangle of bittersweet chocolate, or gateau opera, a classic Parisian cake accented by flavors of almond, chocolate and coffee.

Skadi has its own wine sommelier in Annie McDonnell, and the select wine menu includes a number of handpicked Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blancs and a whole range of sparkling, white and red wines.
