For a refreshing and laidback dining experience in the coastal town of Pacific Grove, Joe Rombi's La Mia Cucina does very well indeed. Located near the famous Point Pinos Lighthouse, this remarkable restaurant with its sublime Italian food and dimly lit interior creates a sense of intimacy and relaxation. The French posters on the walls along with the white décor and dark carpeting bring a decidedly European touch, livening things up considerably.
Fresh, light cooking with an emphasis on superb quality are some of the hallmarks of this restaurant and for appetizers, you can sample the arancini, stuffed and fried Italian rice balls. The raviolis are considered the house speciality and you could try the spinach and meat or mushroom versions although other pasta options are equally enticing. Sip on a selection of the excellent wines in their list, some Italian, while others are closer to home, from Napa Valley, and other vineyards.
