Start with spicy potato patties deep-fried and mixed with cucumbers and tomatoes delicately tossed with sweet and sour tangy sauce and boneless pieces of tender chicken, dipped in chick pea batter then deep-fried. Tandoori dishes include boneless breast of chicken, marinated and barbequed, served with a delightfully tangy tamarind sauce exotically spiced potatoes and finely minced lamb, seasoned with chopped onions, herbs and spices then baked on skewers. A variety of regional dishes and Indian breads are also available to those who wish to extend their palate.

The restaurant is spread across two floors of dining rooms, as well as on the decks outside, offering splendid views of the city and the harbor.
Appetizers may be hot or cold, and from the former you could opt for the lump crab cake served with garlic cream sauce; the ahi tower, thinly sliced tuna served on a bed of daikon radish is an avid example of the latter. Salads and pastas are popular choices, but it is the oysters that build and sustain your anticipation beautifully. Try a mixed seafood grill or a filet mignon if you so prefer for entrée while beers, spirits or something from the extensive wine list help ease it down admirably.

Located in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter, Osteria Panevino's interior of terra cotta floor, colorful ceramics and marble brings in an atmosphere akin to a Tuscan trattoria. The works of art adorning the dining area are inspired by the hill towns of Firenze in Italy in medieval times.
The menu opens with starters of thinly sliced sushi grated octopus topped with olive oil, lemon and capers, and Dungeness crab cakes. Seafood aficionados could try the cioppino livornese which provides a delightful combination of clams, mussels, calamari, half lobster and fresh assorted fish sautéed with garlic, olives and fresh tomato sauce. For meatier main courses there's boneless beast of chicken stuffed with artichokes, broccoli and Fontina cheese or veal shank slowly braised with red wine and diced vegetables served atop saffron risotto.
