Highly recommended by locals, Rastique is a French Bistro owned by Rob Ittner whilst Ryan Flemming is the man behind the stoves. Founded in September, 2000 and with an appearance similar to that of an old log cabin - sunken lights and heavy woodwork - the restaurant provides a cosy and relaxed atmosphere in which to dine.

The kitchen's commitment to taste and variety comes clear as you skim through a well designed menu and unpretentious presentations ensure key flavours shine through. Small plates from the sea include salmon tartare with capers, diced cucumber and dill, crispy calamari with spicy Romana sauce, and black mussels in white wine, thyme and chilli. For the big event, consider duck confit cassoulet, steak or roasted chicken with pommes puree, melted leek and mushroom sauce.

Close with an apple tarte tatin or the classic crème brûlée.
