The railroad town of Leavenworth is modeled on a Bavarian village and while this manifests itself in many ways, nowhere is this more apparent as in Icicle Inn's J J Hills Restaurant, named after the iconic James Jerome Hill, the man who first brought the railroad through this town. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service friendly and you could deliberate over the barbeque ribs, steaks and other German favorites as you watch a model train circling the dining room.

For starters, a jumbo shrimp cocktail with crisp celery, home made sauce and lemon sets the tone and from there you could move on to jäger schnitzel, cubed pork loin, breaded and fried with Hunter mushroom sauce. Barbeque options such as baby back ribs, steamed in beer and broiled are also excellent contenders. Beers, spirits and wines, some private label ones and others locally produced, along with those of international repute help in easing down all the hearty fare.
