Located in High Street, Harborne, Valentinos offers traditional Italian cuisine in a warm, yet vibrant atmosphere. Having thrilled pasta-craving palates for thirty years, Valentinos underwent a change in ownership in 2004 that brought the restaurant up to date in terms of style and sophistication while the original reputation for serving the finest Italian cuisine was retained and enhanced. Known for its unequalled home-made sauces with varieties of pasta and risotto, the restaurant also has a section dedicated to fish and offers a wide range of dishes for vegetarians, with plenty of gluten free options.

Begin with the sautéed king prawns in white wine and grilled swordfish with tomato, garlic and chilli, before moving onto the fillet steak cooked with brandy, red wine and pink and black pepper corns. Sliced roasted pork loin served with apple and mustard sauce makes a good alternative and vegetarians may opt for the layered potato, mushrooms and parmesan bake topped with cream and cheese sauce. The tartuffo limoncello is a good way to conclude the meal, although anything on the dessert menu comes with its baggage of guilt.
