Vanillapod Restaurant, The

I have just returned home from dining at the Vanillapod, a restaurant that I found on the internet and I have to say that it is without doubt possibly one of best restaurants that I have eaten in a very long time. Lucky for us we arrived on the night that the a la carte menu had just changed to what the extremely efficient owner described as traditional English fayre with a modern day twist. It’s fantastic for all you readers and internet surfers who like to read these reviews before you try somewhere new for the first time, you must without delay book a table if you enjoy high quality food at very reasonable prices. It is definitely the place for you. Well done chefs and all the waiting staff, you done us proud. See you again soon.

Nearly six months after eating at this restaurant I am still seething at the way we were treated. The combination of rude staff, particularly the manageress, and the incredible two hour wait for our main courses, made this one of the worst meals out I have ever had.

To be honest the food could have been great but after the marathon wait and the rudeness of the manageress it would have to have been ambrosia from the gods to make up - and it wasn't. Under its previous ownership this restaurant was the best in town - great food, great service - now it has got to be the worst.
