Vaudreys Description
Casual elegance and stylish decor can aptly sum up the ambience at Vaudreys, a recent addition to the culinary scene in Hildenborough, which is located just adjacent to the main rail station. The cuisine at this smart eatery features modern European dishes with a bit of fusion thrown in, so what you get is a fine selection of dishes, flavoursome, fresh and delicious. Whether you are there with friends or family, this place is suitable for all occasions, and the sunny terrace is a wonderful option for al fresco dining.
The monthly changing menus could feature a starter of peppered, grilled tuna loin with fennel and carrot leaf salad, ably supported by a main course of honey roasted duck breast with seared vegetables and roast potatoes. Vegetarians could enjoy dishes such as pan fried polenta, wild mushroom and pesto dressing and a separate menu for children ensures that the little ones are taken care of admirably. The bright and trendy bar at Vaudreys offers interesting cocktails, wines, beers and a good number of spirits.

I had lunch at Vaudreys last week and was delighted by the warm yet stylish welcome and the variety of individual dishes, beautifully prepared and presented which our party of eight enjoyed. I shall certainly return to Vaudreys and also recommend it to my friends.

Wow – I ate there this evening and what a wonderful change to find a good restaurant in this area. The menu was delightful with lots of choice and the best vegetarian selection I have seen for miles around. My partner is a vegetarian and was in the seventh heaven. I had the whole sea bass baked in a salt crust, cooked to perfection. It has everything cooked from raw ingredients on site, and nothing is bought in, also another nice change for the area, some real food. The ambience was sublime, the service and quality of food excellent. The restaurant is under new ownership has been redecorated throughout and looks superb. I am not the kind to normally rave but this place is an exception and truly excellent. It has a lovely upmarket ‘proper’ restaurant feel about it and I will be returning very regularly, particularly as they source all there produce as locally as possible and the menu changes every month to keep it seasonal. Keep it up and I look forward to my next visit.
