No longer a regular (24 March 2009)

We were regular Via Veneto customers until our recent dinner. The service used to be excellent, however, on this trip, the waitress was horrible. It appeared to start because she was upset that we weren't placing our entrée order fast enough. During our appetizers, she kept pestering us. Then, we ordered the avocado salad. There were no avocados and when we asked her about it she was very defensive and started arguing with us saying, ‘we're out of avocados, so I told them to throw in extra palm’. She also said, ‘what do you expect me to do’. She gave us no option to accept or decline the salad. We ordered it specifically for the avocados. Then, she ignored us and we told the owner who was roaming around the room. Unlike how he used to be, he appeared to care less. When our waitress finally came to our table again, we said we would have liked to have had a second glass of wine. She started arguing with us again and finally, they changed waitress. It was a very unpleasant evening.
