Victoria's Restaurant & Coffee Shop Description
Established in May 1996, Victoria's has gone from strength to strength under the careful and dedicated ownership of Fiona and Angus John MacLellan and their enthusiastic, young family of three; indeed, the restaurant was given the name of their youngest child, Victoria, who works alongside her parents in the restaurant, as have done her two older brothers, John and Lewis. Victoria's operates as a coffee
shop from 10 am till 5.30 pm.
From 5.30pm, it offers a bistro style menu until late, offering a cosmopolitan blend of quality cuisine set in informal surroundings, with an emphasis on friendly, attentive high standards of service.
During the day the wide ranging choice could include everything from a full breakfast, sandwiches like Mexican chicken wrap - chicken breast slices, peppers and onions with salsa, guacamole, sour cream and chives, rolled in a flour tortilla or American club sandwich - a three tier toasted wholegrain bread sandwich, layered with tender chicken breast slices, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise or toasted
paninis, with tasty fillings such as tuna mayonnaise, sweetcorn and mozzarella or cheddar cheese and caramelised onion.
Whilst a full a la carte menu is also available, this makes it difficult to give an exact Av Cost per Head, as it could vary from a fiver up to twenty five or thirty pounds, if you push the boat out.
In evening the mood changes from bustling coffee shop to bistro style dining. Lights are dimmed, tablecloths put on and candles on the table. The menu varies from such tempting starters as tasty calamari, bread crumbed and lightly pan fried, served with their own special recipe tartare sauce and lemon or authentic nachos with chilli beef or marinated Scottish salmon fillets served in a honey, mustard and dill dressing, served with smoked salmon and salad garnish with lemon.
There is a wide selection of mains courses ranging from fresh landed East Coast haddock, an 8oz fillet, encased in fresh breadcrust, deep fried, accompanied by seasonal salad and french fries or authentic fajitas with either beef or chicken or prime Scottish salmon, lightly grilled with lime butter, served with hollandaise and asparagus with creamy pesto mash. Superb Scottish beef, supplied by award winning butcher Simon Howie is also on offer cooked to your wishes on the charcoal grill.
And don't forget their puddings if you have room, as they are memorable, for instance their sticky toffee pudding, made to a secret family recipe served with warm toffee sauce and cream or ice cream or pecan pie, a pastry case filled with delicious pecan nuts and maple syrup toffee, served warm with ice cream.
Be assured that whatever time of the day you chose to visit Victoria's you will receive a warm welcome and attentive, friendly service.

Your Reviews of Victoria's Restaurant & Coffee Shop
Chris & Karen Allen (24 June 2007)
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff.
What more can we say. We always plan our holidays to be within easy reach of Victoria's. We wish there was a Victoria's near our home in Derbyshire.
Duncan Fraser (29 August 2006)
Set back from the main street, Victoria's has both a tranquil and busy location. For a coffee house, which it is during the day, this is an ideal spot. Day visitors and week visitors mingle to enjoy the Scottish sunshine. In the evening Victoria's transforms itself into one of the most expensive restaurants in town. Out come the candles and up go the prices. Pity, really because it is good food, well prepared.
