Village Bar & Grill, The

For some years I avoided The Village Bar and Grill because I was put off by its appearance. For me, it appeared be a glorified shop or cafe. Recently, I was obliged to meet with a group for lunch, which I dreaded; it was at The Village Bar and Grill. To my surprise, I was really taken with the menu they offered; the food was surprisingly good and the service was very attentive. I have now been back three to four times. They cater well for large family groups - good for them. They could improve there lot for me by making the place a little more intimate and atmospheric. It was well worth a visit.

We have been visiting the Village Grill in the High Street Billericay for about six months now. My husband has been seriously ill and cannot speak, but the staff have been unfailing kind, polite and helpful towards both him and me. My visits with his wheelchair have been stress free and I have never been made to feel we are a nuisance, unlike one or two other restaurants in the High Street. They often make a special trip to the supermarket to ensure we have 'skinny' milk. The food is always delicious and on New Year's Eve they made our first evening out in six months an absolute pleasure. I cannot praise the staff highly enough.
