Naming a restaurant after the Greek god of wine is a clear indication that Vivat Bacchus takes its wine seriously, and cheese should not be too far behind and yes of course, the food as well. Five cellars which could accommodate up to 18,000 bottles should speak for itself and with the South African flag leading the way, some rare selections are sure to be there to enthral diners. The French and modern European menu takes in quails' eggs, confit of duck and beetroot terrine and crocodile spring rolls amongst starters. Main courses include tamarind infused butterfish with sautéed bok choy, lemon butter sauce and jasmine rice and the char-grilled springbok leaves traces of the owner's South African origin.

I had been there yesterday. The food is good, atmosphere is nice but customer service is extremely poor and staff are rude. There are certainly better places in the city for in that price range.
