Naming a restaurant after the Greek god of wine is a clear indication that Vivat Bacchus takes its wine seriously, and cheese should not be too far behind and yes of course, the food as well. The basement restaurant ensures easy access to the two wine cellars, where customers are invited to choose their own wine from the lockers. At street level there is a wine bar featuring a walk-in cheese room, charcuterie and platters from around the world.

The menu takes in confit duck and beetroot terrine and crocodile spring rolls amongst starters. Main courses include braised shank of lamb, roast breast of duck and ostrich sausage and if the grill word gives the buzz then try the rib-eye or springbok.

The specialty world cheese platter is akin to a gastronomic cruise across the world and the famous British and French boards come in various sizes to share either between two people or a whole group.
