Volt Lounge Description
An outpost of the Noura restaurant group, Volt is a vibrant lounge bar and restaurant close to Victoria station. The sleek curves and velvet pillars add to the mellow, sophisticated ambience, while, as the night draws on, a lively bar and in-house DJ energise the atmosphere.
This bright, modern venue offers a seasonal selection of Italian classics alongside set menus of mezze platters as well as unusual cocktails and spirits. There are three separate themed private dining rooms, called Cognac, Crystal and Diamond.

We went to Volt on a Friday night and I have to say that we were totally appalled. My partner and I are vegetarian therefore for starters we ordered the aubergine dish which was reasonable and the mozzarella and tomato dish, which I could have made at home. There was nothing appealing or decorative about the dish. It seemed the tomato and mozzarella was just plonked on a dish without any style. We had to wait at least an hour for our main course and then had to specifically ask when it was going to arrive. For the main course we ordered the gnocchi, which was completely bland and lacked taste and my partner ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasteless and had no flavour to it. The service was poor; our wine was not poured in our glasses, which I believe is totally impolite, especially when we had to pay so much at the end of the meal including the service. The waiters hardly paid us attention and did not even ask to see if we were enjoying our meal or if we needed anything. The place is extremely expensive and not worth anyone’s time. Volt is not a restaurant that I would be rushing back to anytime soon and it’s definitely not a restaurant which I would recommend to anyone.
