The stunning and opulent architecture of the Voodoo Rooms at times veers towards the sinister, an effect that embellishes the theme in this nouveau iconic bar in Edinburgh. Ornate ceilings, black leather banquettes and glass topped tables, otherwise innocuous elements of décor, seem to have a Luciferous attractiveness to them. While the music events being held there have certainly made it a popular hotspot, the food is a major crowd puller.

The Devil's Kitchen, an apt epithet for their restaurant, looks to New Orleans for culinary inspiration, so expect to find Creole crisp fried baby squid in the starters. Italian influences can be spotted in the risotto primavera, a delectable combination of peas, beans, asparagus, mint and Parmesan.
