Vujon Description

The debate about what goes to make up the authentic Indian taste is one that will happily maintain momentum as long as the popularity of Indian food is maintained outside its country of origin. However, instinct is a great quality, and a visit to Vujon somehow suggests that here is a holy grail of authentic Indian cooking, making this one of the most notable Indian restaurants in the North East.

Nor does the genuine feel stop at the food, with staff, décor and atmosphere sophisticated and tasteful. You might feel that all this excellence would cause a financial crisis - not so, prices are higher than usual but certainly not in proportion to the high standards set at Vujon.

Your Reviews of Vujon

What ever u want (5 February 2008)

Vujon was by far the worst dining experience my partner and I have ever encountered. On entering the restaurant, we were shown to a table in the damp basement. After waiting a good five minutes, I called the waiter over, and asked him if we could have a drink and see a wine list. And the waiter looked at me in a puzzled manner. He then brought over a bottle of wine for my partner and just plonked it on the table. What ever happened to wine coolers? We ordered our food after waiting for over 45 minutes. Every time I required a drink I had to call the waiter over. We waited over two hours for our food to come and be served up. The people on the table next to us, started to complain to a manager who tried to explain to customers how busy they were. But surely it would have been a lot better for the manager to come and apologise. The waiter could not even be bothered to clear all the dishes from evening but decided to pile them up on bar in full view of the customers. Honestly, this was our worst experience ever.

Digger (1 February 2008)

Around fifteen of us went there one afternoon with clients, and we had absolutely fantastic food, fresh and tasty, all washed down with Cobra beer. The service was great and undoubtedly, it was the best Indian food I’ve tasted.
