I was brought up on Pie and Mash with also a portion of Hot Eels on top. I remeber the original shop opposite Westmorland Road with the long narrow seating part. As children we always tried to get the seat at the end by the kitchen as the alcove was very narrow and one side only seated one person. Their have been two shop in Westmorland Road itself, the first one oppopsite where the shop is now and the one that is now in use. I live in Lincolnshire now, but everytime I come to London I have to visit 'The Pie Shop' to have my two steak and kidney pies and double mash with a portion of hot eels on top. Long may Arments stay cooking. Just Beautiful.

I was brought up on arments pie and mash - I’m sure in the early 1950’s. The shop was opposite Westmoreland Road. So I have been eating pie and mash since 1950 and no other pie and mash comes close. I love it and my children were bought up on it too. I use to get them baby bowl before they had their teeth. I live in Kent now so, only have pie and mash when I go to Walworth. I used to have two pies and double mash, and liquer pie. My mouth is watering thinking about it.
