Walkers Restaurant Description
Built in 1964 on a sensitive site in relation to the Cathedral, the Wessex has moulded itself well into the role of cathedral-city-centre hotel, particularly with its restaurant which aims to provide sensible, comfortable food at reasonable prices and with very few delusions of grandeur. Thus a meal of smoked salmon, chicken breast filled with wild mushrooms and a lemon tartlet with caramel sauce would be well prepared and elegantly presented without making any claims towards haut cuisine. A sensible and straightforward wine list helps complete a value for money experience that enjoys a ready clientele.
