Walnut Description

A family run restaurant that concentrates on the food first, keeping it relatively simple but modern in style, as a result it is deservedly popular and busy most evenings. With doors open on to the green and daily fish and game specials it is somewhere either for that special occasion or just for a quick bite.

A typical meal might begin with seared scallops with a roasted garlic and balsamic dressing and mixed leaves or Mediterranean fish soup with Gruyère cheese, rouille and croutons, with mains such as roasted Barbary duck breast with a plum and Armagnac compote or roasted halibut steak on a sorrel rosti with a lemon beurre blanc.
