Warehouse Brasserie, The Description
The welcoming and family run Warehouse Brasserie in Chapel Street North was originally a Methodist chapel and many features dating from that time can still be seen today. With Phil and Sue Hirst taking over the reins at this delightful venue, it has gained further popularity for serving tasty modern British cuisine and also for playing host to weddings, parties and other special occasions in a separate galleried area.
The exclusive use of local, seasonal produce results in the creation of tasty homemade dishes that could comprise of haunch of East Anglian venison, slow roast Suffolk pork belly, fillet of sea bass, and spiced aubergine tart, all served with fresh vegetables and complemented by good wine. These could be preceded by starters of oak smoked salmon, roast figs wrapped in Parma ham with Stilton or grilled goats' cheese. Proceedings can be ended with rhubarb and custard pannacotta with vanilla cookies or crème brûlée.
You could also take advantage of the fixed price lunch and dinner and party menus.
Fixed Dinner
- £13.95 (2 courses) to £17.95 (3 courses), Tues - Thurs
Your Reviews of Warehouse Brasserie, The
Trev and Sue (26 March 2009)
We have been going to the Warehouse for many years and regard it as a hidden gem. The old building has a lot of atmosphere and is very comfortable, intimate and romantic - fresh flowers and candle-lit tables. The quality of the food is superb and they use really fresh, high quality ingredients. Personal favourites, which I can highly recommend are the steak, kleftico and sea bass - the brown bread ice cream is definitely the best dessert. There is a comprehensive wine list but you won't need to go any further than the house wines as they are exceptionally good. Service is excellent - attentive, considerate and unobtrusive. We eat out frequently and The Warehouse Brasserie is our definite favourite.

Excellent! We visited on a Thursday evening and it wasn't very busy, but the atmosphere was enjoyable and the food of good quality and reasonably priced, washed down with a nice bottle of wine. We will definitely visit again. Thanks.
