Weavers Wine Bar & Eating House Description

Following the now increasingly well-worn trail back to their roots, out of the cities, back to the home produce and fully fresh ingredients, brings us in touch with William Bavin, now ploughing a fresh furrow or three in his native Norfolk.

Weavers is located in an old guild chapel and it is here that good burghers of Diss, and beyond, are being introduced to an "eclectic mix of the interesting and the straightforward". This embraces such dishes as steak and kidney pie, cooked fish and game, roasted loin of venison with haggis, leek and Stilton bake and whisky ice cream with Bailey's sauce. Norfolk may well be the gourmet centre of East Anglia but it can still do with the likes of Mr Bavin's enterprise.

We have never been disappointed by the food we have eaten at this restaurant - good value meals with good sized portions - with a good selection of starters and main courses including fish, meat and veg options. However, the puddings are not the highlight of the meal! Excellent choice of reasonably priced wines with a good selection by the glass.
