Welcome to Town Restaurant
Mill Lane, Llanrhidian, SA3 1EH
Only ten miles from the centre of Swansea, The Welcome to Town offers a rural escape to those who wish to savour decent cooking amidst the scenic delights of the Gower peninsula. A modern approach in the kitchens embraces the local ingredients and permits the occasional flourishes of individuality without losing the thread. So expect to find the Welsh lavabread in an overcoat, toast, bacon and scrambled egg all combined to produce what could very well pass for a savoury, or pressed terrine of lobster and leek with a saffron vinaigrette. Main courses include roast best end of Welsh lamb, fillet of Welsh black or a wild mushroom and asparagus risotto with shaved parmesan. Hot chocolate and toffee fondant comes with chocolate sauce and pistachio ice cream and the selection of Welsh farmhouse cheeses with oatcakes and homemade walnut bread produces some rare treats.Only ten miles from the centre of Swansea, The Welcome to Town offers a rural escape to those who wish to savour decent cooking amidst the scenic delights of the Gower peninsula. A great selection of house wines well-supported by a main list just serves to complete the pleasure of this unassuming but thoroughly genuine country restaurant.

REVIEWS OF Welcome to Town Restaurant
SF (11 February 2009)
We have visited The Welcome on several occasions recently for both lunch and dinner, and have always been impressed by the excellent and creative cuisine. Starters, mains and desserts are all imaginative and well presented, and it is particularly encouraging to see local ingredients used. The Welsh lamb and laverbread are simply superb. We have also found the service attentive and friendly. Overall, it’s highly recommended.
Tom Leahy (10 February 2009)
My friends and I went there for lunch on a weekend away in the Gower. The members of staff were very friendly and the service attentive and helpful, despite the fact that we'd messed them about a bit on the booking. The food was superb, cleverly prepared modern cuisine without too much fuss and considering the quality of ingredients and preparation very good value. According to the menu and the staff, the ingredients were all locally sourced as well, my wife is big into her ecology so this meant more to her than me. I would definitely go again if I was in the area.
