When it comes to the food, the menu takes diners on an exciting journey across Britain. Consider a salmon fillet with asparagus risotto or millefeuille of flambéed mushrooms to start off. For the main course confit of duck is served with black pudding, red onion marmalade, fondant potato and a port reduction, and roasted guinea fowl appears with is own sauce on a bed of pancetta fried cabbage and dauphinoise potatoes.
End sweetly with Bramley apple pie or tiramisu.

REVIEWS OF Wellingtons
Darren and Sarah (29 May 2010)
We were recommended this restaurant by my brother in law. We booked it for our 10th wedding anniversary. The hosts were very welcoming they even added extra table decorations for the occasion. The atmosphere was brilliant, especially the music chosen by John the owner. The food was superb, we will definitely be returning.
Matt & Anita (2 May 2010)
We cannot rate this place highly enough. The food, prepared by Suzanne is comparable to anything you would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the warm and friendly service and the outstanding background music selection provided by husband John, combines to give and make this place better than a Michelin-starred restaurant. It's cosy atmosphere seats only four tables, but this makes it really special. The food, ranging from fresh seafood dishes in exquisite homemade sauces, to crispy aromatic duck tarts, to beautifully tender 10oz fillet steak beef Wellingtons, does not cost the earth and yet tastes like heaven. We've eaten in what is touted to be the finest the UK and the world there is. Clearly, the people who assess the best restaurant in the world have never ventured to Ilfracombe! But then, it's probably best they don’t - because we'd rather keep it as our own best kept secret!
