Wharf Restaurant & Bar, The Description
Established in October 2002, looking straight across Teddington Lock The Wharf is going well and business appears to be booming. Starters could include flaked snapper and coconut salad with Szechwan pickled vegetables, using pink ginger and coriander balanced by shredded lime leaves, or yellow pumpkin and seafood curry, two dishes which are helping The Wharf gain its reputation for unusual, soundly based food.
A popular main course is the sea bass, served with the skin crispy and topped with a notable chermoula, described as a Moroccan paste with garlic, coriander, cumin and lemon. If snacking, forget not the humble Wharf steak burger with bacon, melted cheese, fries, dill pickle and relish. For pudding try and find a space for the excellent panettone bread and butter pudding with toffee. The Wharf has style, good food and a wonderful location - present signs are that it's going places.

I love this restaurant, its one of my favourites. It has the feel of a central London venue except it’s in Teddington, on the river. I have always experienced good service at The Wharf, not intrusive and befitting the venue. With regards to the food, I particularly enjoyed the steak, and would recommend this. The 'tasting plate' with the bread and butter pudding was excellent. I will definitely be going back for more.

The setting is very good - right on the river - and the dining room is spacious and modern, a change from restaurants converted from little shops. The service was very good, and the waiters that interacted with the customers never had to be told twice. We had the set menu, which was a little limited but that's a set menu. The Teryaki salmon is my recommendation for a starter. The chicken main course was a little bland. But the tuna was very good. They ran out of brûlée for pudding but it was Wednesday and busy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the restaurant. It’s Ideal for a special occasion.
