Whinstone View is set in fourteen acres of private grounds just outside the village of Great Ayton and houses a naturally well-lit, cosy dining area in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests can enjoy a snack, coffee, lunch, or an elaborate dinner in a friendly and warm ambience. The Bistro offers a variety of dining areas including alfresco dining in the summer months in the patio area and on the terrace and a real flame fire for cosy winter nights.

Start with spicy pepper and tomato soup, and salmon gravadlax with rocket and horseradish mayonnaise, and chicken liver parfait with onion marmalade and cristinis. For main course consider lamb tagine, fairly hot Moroccan stew with peppers, apricots and sultanas served with cous cous, and egg tagliatelle with Mediterranean vegetables, sun dried tomatoes and chilli in a tomato sauce with parmesan. End your meal with Baileys crème brulée, and chocolate truffle.
