This is a popular place for the Newmarket racing people, and for the local business type. Although its location may make it look ordinary, it is anything but that. As soon as you enter you can see its smart, yet relaxed layout. The food is always excellent, and the service is quick enough to get two courses into a working lunch break. They have a chalk board with specials, which often concentrates on a particular type of meat - such as local venison, or freshly caught fish, each cooked in a variety of ways. It also does popular open sandwiches, and my particular favourite for the starter, or the main is the whitebait with yummy homemade tartare.
