Whitstable Oyster Fishery Co Description
A highly popular venue, parties from London, seafood as fresh as it comes, everything going for it. But there are some who think that WOFCo is at risk of being a victim of its own success. Whether or not that is true may depend upon the day but there is no denying the continuing popularity of this attractive place located in the Royal Native Oyster Stores, a singularly appealing weather-worn building down on the seafront. Most of the well-loved dishes are there with pan-fried squid, oysters (of course) and whiting well to the fore. Since nobody has yet devised a suitably maritime pudding you may wish to devour a portion of the bread and butter pudding, though chocolate truffle cake with raspberries could tempt the ladies in your party.

We visited the restaurant this weekend and were appalled by the service we received. It took 20 minutes to order a drink and the restaurant wasn't even full. When the food did arrive, in two of six dishes the fish was under cooked and raw by the bone. When returned we heard nothing back for 10 minutes so decided to leave. An absolute shambles! Looking at the selection of fish and prices on the menu I was looking forward to dinner at Whitstable, but the food was uninspired and seriously overpriced.

I felt the prices are way too high and the food is below average. The members of staff were also unfriendly.
