The afternoon tea, loving prepared by the ladies of Wimborne St Giles is so quintessentially English, it's unforgettable. I do miss seeing the tableware of its early beginnings though, an eclectic mix of crockery, cutlery and tablecloths which looked like they have been pulled out of grandma's loft. The buns, cakes and sandwiches seem even more delicious. A visit for all in our beautiful county. Thank you ladies and gents - you are a precious gem to the landscape of Dorset.

This is a wonderful place to spend a Sunday afternoon. I've been there on several occasions and each time enjoyed some nice tea sandwiches, a lovely selection of homemade cakes and coffee or tea. It hasn't mattered which charity was serving on the day, each was exceptional in taste and freshness. The prices are surprisingly low for such a treat and no extra charge for the walk around the village and a visit to the church. Do go.
