Windsor Grill

I have been looking for a decent steak in Berkshire for years and finally found one at the Windsor Grill. They serve simple food made exquisitely. My rib-eye steak was done to perfection and my wife's meal was perfect all the way through. So good was the menu that we sampled the full course of starter, mains and dessert - delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful without being pushy at all. All in all a great night out, good prices and will definitely go back for more. My only complaint - if I must, and I really do not want to - is that there were no other drinks other than wine on the menu. I know I am in the minority, but I would have liked to have some alternate options available.

We visited the Windsor Grill on Saturday for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. There were 24 of us in the party and I cannot praise the staff enough, they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. AWT was present that night and he made a special visit to the table to wish my mother-in-law a happy birthday, she was in her element and had a grin like a Cheshire cat for the rest of the evening. He even took time out to speak with other members of the party and signed a cookbook for my mother-in-law as a present. The food was absolutely spectacular and everyone enjoyed themselves. The surroundings were lovely and very intimate with soft lighting and furnishings. We would definitely go back again, and cannot wait to try something different from the menu next time.
