Wine Bar and Bistro, The Description

Devoted equally to eating and drinking the Wine Bar seems to bring a lot of pleasure to a lot of people. Uncompromisingly located in a row of shops it has a twice-daily changing menu that produces no-nonsense dishes such as crab cake, Cajun-spiced chicken and other robust offerings from unlikely parts of the globe. The wine list is as exciting as the food and altogether this makes an ideal place to go for an unhurried, relaxing evening with a group of like-minded friends.

I have eaten at the Bishop's Waltham Wine Bar for over 20 years and even though it's changed hands several times, I have never had a bad experience. The present owners are amongst the very best. They offer a warm welcome, super service and pleasantly sophisticated food. It is not too fussy, but special enough to make you feel you've had a treat, and filling enough to make you know you've eaten. Lovely wines too.

I recently ate tapas there on their Wednesday night special. And it was delicious, warm cosy atmosphere. The friendly staff do notice you and do make an effort to make you feel welcome.
