Winking Prawn, The

I am a Salcombe local and my children were born and raised here. I have eaten at the Winking Prawn several times with friends over the last few years. We have always had great fun with well cooked, good value food and have never had to complain about anything. The fun atmosphere makes it ideal for a party. My only moan is that like all restaurants the drinks and wine add on a huge portion of the budget, but the location’s parking and service makes the visit worthwhile. The owners are very canny at providing exactly what most people want.

My husband, some friends and I visited The Winking Prawn on a Monday night recently when we were on holiday in Devon. We turned up without having booked and only just managed to get a table, all other tables were occupied all evening. I can't say I am surprised, the service and the food were excellent. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, considering we had never been there previously. We will definitely make a point of going back there the next time we are down that way, you never know we may even be brave enough to delve in the dressing up box on our next visit. I personally would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff for an amazing evening.
