Wong Chu
63 Faulkner Street, Manchester, M1 4FF
A somewhat austere place, mercifully bare of the grosser forms of memorabilia and giving all its time and effort to producing generous helpings of fairly basic, but tasty chow at breathtakingly reasonable prices. Go for the soup noodles, casseroles and the Wong Chu specials. And watch out for that Chinese beer. Of the various Chinese simplistic restaurants in Manchester this has to be amongst the top flight.Chinese

REVIEWS OF Wong Chu
Chris Hughes (7 December 2004)
Best place in Manchester Chinatown for noodle dishes, good-value, mid-price, no-nonsense Chinese.
The menu lists the usual Cantonese-style stuff, and on the back page, "traditional dishes", the quality of the food is generally excellent, the noodle with soup dishes are consistently filling and excellent for 5 or 6 quid.
Other noodle dishes set the standard for noodles in Manchester, or order a plate of barbecue pork with crispy pork, some "gai lan" (dark green veg) with garlic and ginger, and some plain boiled rice. You won't be disappointed.
Nigel Love (24 March 2003)
I have eaten here several times and I would really recommend both the noodle soups and the crispy pork. Delicious!!!
