Established in 1981 with five branches now in operation in the UK, this eatery is a popular destination for individual or group dining. The amply lit interiors and beige bathed walls give the place a cosy feel.

Among their signature dishes are steamed idlis and shallow fried dosas made from a fermented mixture of rice and lentils, there are other temptations like chats - a piquant combination of chickpea straws, boiled potatoes, tomatoes, onions, tamarind and green chutneys. Uttapam, the Indian version of pizza appears with various toppings. There are also full-fledged set meals and a la carte combinations of mild or spiced rice.
 
Woodlands offers great value for money and has had many a carnivore leave pleasantly surprised at not having missed eating meat or fish.
