My husband and I had a fantastic meal at Woods Restaurant. At the end of the meal Matt wanted to finish the meal with a nice Port, and Paddy was sent to our table where he recommended a fine vintage, which was the best Port we both had ever tasted. Thank you Paddy, you really know your cellar. What a fantastic end to a lovely holiday in Dulverton. We hope to return soon.

I had a very pleasurable dining experience at Woods last Tuesday evening. Dinner was as excellent as I'd been led to believe it would be but the highlight for me was the wine from a very extensive wine list. As a bit of a wine 'enthusiast' I was well impressed. The list at Woods would put many a grand hotel or celebrity restaurant to shame. I was introduced to Paddy, the owner, who really knows his wines and we spent some time discussing his list. Long story short, we matched wines to dishes and of the five of us having dinner, not one complaint about the wine choices. If you ask Paddy nicely he'll recommend something and may even produce something not on the list. If it is still there, ask for a bottle of the Oregon Chardonnay, superior to most that the New World can offer and a lot more than what the Old can. Give Woods a go and you'll not be disappointed.
