Wright Brothers The Oyster & Porter House
11 Stoney Street, Borough Market, London, SE1 9AD
London's new foodie hotspot, Borough Market, hold lots of surprises, most of them good, but one of the best is this showcase for the Wright Brothers, suppliers of oysters and luxury shellfish drawn from Colchester, France, Cornwall, Scotland, Northumberland and Ireland, to some of London's top eateries (The Ivy, J. Sheekey, The Wolseley, Scott's etc...) as well as to the populace at large. For those who aspire to simple, but astoundingly good, eating, this has to be sheer heaven on earth. Oysters of almost every shape, size and flavour are on offer here, and one is wafted back to the days when the Victorian population of London regarded oysters as one of the cheaper foods of their day.London's new foodie hotspot, Borough Market, hold lots of surprises, most of them good, but one of the best is this showcase for the Wright Brothers, suppliers of oysters and luxury shellfish drawn from Colchester, France, Cornwall, Scotland, Northumberland and Ireland, to some of London's top eateries (The Ivy, J. Today at Wright Brothers, oysters can be priced by their origin, size and availability, and there are quite wide variations, but fear not, the quality is always there.
Nor does it end at oysters, with razor clams mariniere, beef Guinness and oyster pie, Helford river dressed crab, fish soup, harissa grilled prawns, baked scallops provencale and other such delicacies awaiting the attention of the dedicated. This is an oyster bar with a difference.
