Yauatcha

15-17 Broadwick Street, Soho, London, W1F 0DL

Alan Yau of Hakkasan has another immediate success on his hands with Yauatcha - his trendy dim sum eatery; however, deservedly so, as the quality is quite superb and the prices are sensible whilst the decor is stunning. Little boxes of different steamed goodies from prawn to pork and spring onion are universally delicious and beautifully presented too. India Knight in the Sunday Times 'Style' Magazine said: "You get style and content, these are the pertest, perkiest, freshest dim sum to be had this side of Hong Kong, with a subtlety and complexity of flavour that tastes nothing short of extraordinary." This view was endorsed by the Restaurant Remy Award made to Alan Yau in 2004 and the Harpers and Moet Award 2005 for Newwcomer of the Year.

REVIEWS OF Yauatcha

Krissie (10 July 2005)

Dim sum was good but for the prices they charge, you do wonder if it's worth it. However, the resturant has a buzzing atmosphere and is very stylish which compensates for the over priced menu. I'd recommend it if someone else is paying the bill.

Ross Martin (6 May 2005)

Lovely dim sum... apart, that is, from the gallons of water we had to consume post meal. Heavy use of MSG or salt? Also, they won't let you take food off the premises! They say this is policy, yet nowhere is this stated. Not knowing this we ordered some extra dim sum just to taste with the intention of taking the remainder home. After all, we paid for it. You have been warned.
