Ye Old Sun Inn

Colton, Tadcaster, LS24 8EP

Ye Old Sun Inn is a pleasant village inn dating back to the eighteenth century, nestling in the quiet village of Colton, close to York and Tadcaster. The restaurant serves freshly prepared, traditional dishes with an extensive list of wines and a variety of ales. Start with wild mushroom tart, a crisp short pastry case filled with sautéed mushrooms, leeks, thyme and tarragon, then finish with blue Wensleydale cheese and beetroot risotto. For main course you could try a fine selection of autumn vegetables cooked in a mild curry sauce infused with coconut milk and served with rice, and flat bread and a choice of hand made sausages cooked in creamy peppercorn sauce. A slice of Yorkshire fruit cake, your choice of real Yorkshire cheese served with a glass of port and crème brulée of the day served with short bread and fresh fruit can bring the gastronomic adventure to a pleasing finish.

REVIEWS OF Ye Old Sun Inn

Pete Spence (12 February 2010)

Well we have just had a wonderful night! The room was fantastic, very clean and kept and the bed was so very comfortable with all facilities anyone should require. The food was fantastic, nicely presented; our order was taken and served with a smile - which is quite rare these days. We were made to feel very welcome from the second we entered the building until we left the following day after a wonderful breakfast, again served with a smile. I can recommend this establishment to all. Thank you!

Paul Jenkins (28 May 2007)
